Altair Compose Extension
Currently, the Altair Compose extension is only compatible with
- Microsoft Windows,
- Linux,
- Altair AI Studio 2024.0+, and
- Altair Compose 2024.0+
The extension will not work together with Altair AI Hub, nor with other operating systems.
Altair Compose® is an environment for doing math calculations, manipulating and visualizing data, programming, and debugging scripts useful for repeated computations and process automation. Altair Compose allows users to perform a wide variety of math operations including linear algebra and matrix manipulations, statistics, differential equations, signal processing, control systems, polynomial fitting, and optimization.
The Altair Compose extension for Altair AI Studio provides the following 7 operators, with which you can seamlessly execute Compose OML from within an AI Studio process.

- Get Requests
- Get Components
- Get Timesteps
- Read CAE
- Read CAE with Parameters

Prerequisites:
To use the Altair Compose extension, you need the following:
Windows or Linux
Altair AI Studio 2024+
Altair Compose 2024+, installed and licensed.
Download Altair Compose from the Altair One Marketplace
Custom Operators extension >= 1.2.1

Altair Compose installation path
To configure the extension, take the following steps:
Set the Altair Compose installation path in Preferences, under Settings > Preferences > Altair Compose
Click the Test button to check if the connection is made successfully.
Notes on Altair Units
The Altair Compose extension runs Altair Compose in batch mode. Altair Units are checked out when a process is executed, then released when execution is completed.
If you are using Altair AI Studio together with an Altair Units license, you should be able to use the same license configuration.
