What's New in RapidMiner Studio 7.0?
This page describes the new features of RapidMiner Studio 7 as well as its enhancements and bug fixes.
Versions and compatibility
Please note that beginning with version 7.0 the complete RapidMiner platform now has a unified version numbering, i.e. other products like RapidMiner Server or RapidMiner Radoop will use the same version 7.0 from now on.
Update / migration
Please note that RapidMiner Studio 7.0 is only compatible with RapidMiner Server 7.0 and above. Please do not update to this version if you have not yet updated your Server.
You can download and install the new version of RapidMiner Studio from our download page. You can also update RapidMiner Studio from within the product by using the “Marketplace” in the “Extensions” menu. Switch to the “Updates” tab, select to update RapidMiner and follow the steps.
New look & feel
RapidMiner 7.0 comes with a completely modernized look & feel greatly improving the usability of the product. Important functions stay front and center while less frequently used features have been moved out of the way. The panels offer now more space and can easily be distinguished. Parameters, operators, and repository entries also got more space and are now easier to see and select. Last but not least the result views come now with a fresher design as well.
In summary, these changes provide a cleaner design to make it easy for everyone to generate predictive workflows without sacrificing deep functionality required by experienced users.
Getting started and templates
A new welcome dialog delivers a new introduction videos, tutorials (see below), and process templates to give users a frictionless environment for learning and using RapidMiner Studio.
New tutorials
New users will find the new tutorials very helpful. They explain all necessary basics of RapidMiner but also cover more advanced data handling and the most important aspects of modeling, scoring, and validation.
New data import
The data import has greatly improved for RapidMiner 7. It is now more robust and easier than ever to import data and make the necessary adjustments before you store the data in your repository for later use in your processes.
New Tableau integration
Extends and leverages the value of predictive analytics within Tableau data visualizations to produce new insights that lead to better actions.
